The 2012 National Naadam Festival

The 2012 National Naadam Festival of Mongolia dedicated to the 806 th Anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 91st Anniversary of the People's Revolution has started with its official opening ceremony in the Central Stadium at 11:00 am by being entered the Nine White Banners of Mongol State, where the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj has made a greeting speech to all celebrants, honored guests and greeted those who have been celebrating the National Festival of Mongolia abroad.

In his speech President Ts.Elbegdorj noted, “The year of 2012 marks the 850th Anniversary of the birth of Great Chinggis Khaan. The people of Mongolia have made its choice in the Parliamentary and Capital City Citizens’ Representative’s Khural Elections, where the new composition has started its work. Also, there are few days left to start the XXX Olimphic Games. Mongolians celebrate the National Naadam in a broad range gathering with its family, brotherhood and neighborhood, only bright talks are being exchanged, where Mongolians are proud of its culture, history and tradition. Hereby, I announce the opening of the Mongol Naadam, which is the pride of Independent Mongolians with a great history. Happy Naadam to All! Let the Blue Sky bless Mongolians forever!”

The opening ceremony was produced by producer Ch.Ganzorig, State Merit Servant, where State Merit Actress B.Sarantuya performed “Argagui Mongol Ayalguu” (True Mongolian Melody) song opening the event. After the opening ceremony President Ts.Elbegdorj, Prime Minister S.Batbold and Speaker of the Parliament D.Demberel have visited the Shagai (ankle bone shooting) and Archery fields, where they have participated in archery games.
